Learn From Experience

“I’m Dr. Courtney Lavigne, a restorative dentist turned orthodontist who understands the challenges you face.”

I’ve been there and know how to bridge the gap between general dentistry and orthodontics. While most general dentists think they need a better understanding of orthodontic mechanics to achieve a better result, it’s not about attachment size, shape and location. It’s about the skeletal and dental diagnosis, and knowing what is orthodontically possible! If you ask your aligner software to give you movements that don’t make sense, it doesn’t matter where your attachments are, the treatment won’t go as you hope.

Build Confidence in Your Treatment Planning

Are you unsure whether to take on an orthodontic case or refer it out? Do you wish you could avoid frustrating issues like teeth not tracking or needing multiple refinements?
Anchor Academy is here to help.

Anchor Academy is perfect for you if:

  • You’re tired of dealing with problems like posterior open bites and multiple refinements

  • You rely on your aligner software to plan your tooth movements and accept plans with little evaluation or intervention

  • You struggle with combining restorative and orthodontic treatment plans

  • You don’t routinely check the skeletal structure before starting orthodontic treatment

  • You’re unsure about when to refer out an orthodontic case vs. keeping it in house

  • You want to decrease frustrations with post-op chipping of anterior restorations and sensitivity with posterior restorations

From AACD Accredited Cosmetic Dentist to Board Certified Orthodontist

Dr. Lavigne served as visiting faculty and a content contributor for Spear Education, achieved accreditation status with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and ran a highly successfully restorative practice in the Boston suburbs. After selling her practice and returning to orthodontic residency, she became board-certified through the American Board of Orthodontics. Today, she’s passionate about bridging the two worlds of orthodontics and restorative dentistry.

Stay Ahead of the Curve

Orthodontics is a growing part of general dentistry. Our series of courses will give you the skills and knowledge to offer high-quality orthodontic care that’s profitable for your practice, while having a better understanding of which cases are better left to the orthodontist. You’ll have the skillset to better communicate with your specialist to achieve the desired tooth positions you may not be getting currently.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Confidently decide which cases to handle and which to refer out. I’ll show you why you’re treating cases you shouldn’t be, how to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of cases you should be, and how to diagnose and treat or refer cases you aren’t even offering to your patients right now! Spoiler: Nearly all adult wear patients should be treatment planned for orthodontic intervention prior to restoring worn teeth!

  • Make your orthodontic treatments more predictable and profitable

  • Think like an orthodontist while keeping your restorative dental goals in mind
